I really want to stay with the stock unit, but what I want (Ipod, MP3 Player, Sat Radio), It difficult to do so.
I want a aftermarket unit that does all the above, and is attractive. Something that looks good in the 993.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I installed an Eclipse head unit a couple months ago and have been pleased with it. Has built in bluetooth which is nice. Installation was pretty straightforward with the harness Crutchfield supplied. The only trick was that their harness had the constant and switched power leads opposite of those in the car's harness. Just pulled the pins and reversed them in the Crutchfield harness and all was well.
As for looks, it's subjective. I like that the display does not look like a video game. Has 3 full lines of text which is nice. Backlighting is either red or blue, neither of which is an exact match for the instruments. I use the red backlighting as the blue is too bright at night, in my opinion.

Alpine IDA X-305 - (basically same as Raptor, just a newer version).
Not as bad in the "bling" department as Alpine used to be, and the round chrome dial matches my gauge rings.

This is one of the great things about the 993: any single DIN head unit will work.
That's what I have. It works great. It's a little glossy and reflects glare, but it's big **** is easy to use without having to look for it. iPod almbum artwork is displayed, or one of two other looks, one including an old-fashioned flip-card calander and clock. It has carries a Sirius signal.

I also have the x305 and love it. I have gauge rings and that really makes the x305 work with the car. I had a Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRs in before and could not get over the shinny black. However the build quality was a little nicer than the Alpine.

Love Alpine stuff. Been considering a
CDA-9887
Only thing that bugs me about Alpine stuff is the HU is "Everything Ready" but comes with "nothing" installed and requires a crap load of external Ai-NET modules. Sat Radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth, IMPRINT etc. It's nice to have flexibility but by the time you are done adding 50 external boxes to clutter everything up you've spent $1000 for a HU with these options. It wouldn't be so bad if the modules were installed inside the HU in slots, but now you gotta have crap everywhere.
