Do you use 6th gear..?
I know most of us do on the highway, but i gotta tell you, accelerating out of 6th at 65 - 75 MPH is almost useless.....

Great for MPG on the freeway. Otherwise, no.

I use it only above 75, and I have the g50/21 ratio for 6th.

Last time I used it was in 2006... I think...
I'm toying with the idea of removing it for weight saving and selling it on ebay as "MINT, used only once".

I think I may have used 6th a couple times, hard to remember. All kidding aside, 6th is pretty well useless below 80MPH/3000RPM. It comes into it's own in the 110MPH+ zone where the engine is over 4K, or in other words hardly ever in most regions of the world. I always find it ironic that the 993Turbo has more tightly stacked ratios than our NA 993s.

I use it on the freeway all the time. That's cruising in the 75-80 mph range here in So Cal.

I was thinking about this exact subject today on my 37 mi 1-way commute to work. The car is not much fun in 6th gear.
I wish I wasn't so cheap and would spend the $$$$$ to mod the tranny. Oh wait I just got my engine and tranny back in the car....

Yup, I'm guessing I could do the RR in about 1/2 the time...
Now if I just had a spare $8-10k laying around.

I would agree. To accelerate at that speed, I would downshift to get the revs above 4K, and plant my right foot

75 and above on flat areas. Not on long hills, up or down.
