I think the seller is wrong about the CA emissions....I believe it has to be at least a '75 or earlier to be exempt. As a '76 this could be a real nightmare to smog. Can you say track only?

Anyone else see this on ebay? wouldn't have thought you could fit a V8 in the engine bay of a 911 and still have a reasonable rear ride height.

Actually a chevy small block with Aluminum block and cylinder heads compares favorably weightwise with our boxers.

I am amazed that a V8 will fit in there in rear engine configuration. I remember seeing a picture of a big block V8 in a 911 as a mid-engine, where the motor was practically on the rear seat. Do they use the original transmissions for these conversions. I am also surprised that a V8 is not heavier than the flat six.
Now, the subaru boxer is a good idea for a Porsche. I don't think you can get it past the German TUEV, though.
