Here is a picture of 993 with wood dash. Seller does not know if it was factory or dealer installed. Could it have been factory-installed?

I would bet aftermarket. Though you could get the rootwood shifter, ebrake and steering wheel from the factory. I think what is shown there is not OEM.

Yes, you could get wood trim as a factory option. Ask the seller if the options sticker is still attached to the underside of the hood and get a list of the option codes.
In fact, through their Exclusive Programme, you could have the entire interior painted pink with a Hello Kitty motif if you paid them enough.

As stated, check the option sticker (one under the front, one in the owner`s manual) for the correct codes. Viper Bob is parting out an RLer`s C2S that has most of the interior wood options.

Wow, that sounds interesting! I love the dash, but didn't necessarily like that car. (looking for a cab).
