You can PM me and have the USA buyer contact me for additional information in regards to importation. It is difficult and not without risk, not to mention expense.

Or, as a convenient service to me, he was gonna have his mechanic "who knows a lot about Porsches" do a PPI for me. The owner basically didn't want his car off the lot. I asked him what he had to hide. No reply after that.

So, anyone else: beware if you are thinking about that RS.

Also: Isn't that a 993 GT2 wing on their car and not an RS wing?
I know this RS very well, I helped import the car in 2007. The car is perfect with no stories, sorry you had a bad experience with the seller. He does still have the car, I spoke with him recently and while he does have it for sale he really does not care to sell it. Knowing what it takes to have a car that quality in the states EPA/DOT legal the price is fair.

A little off-topic, but the September issue currently advertised on the 911 & Porsche World magazine website features images that clearly evoke the silver RS shown on page 1 of this thread, & Jeff's yellow RS. Enjoy!

We get to drive a 993 GT2 against a 993 RS. Can it get any better than that?

A buddy of mine handed me that issue when I was parked at Ocean avenue. I just found some great photos on this site:

Guys, for those of a normal disposition and not obsessed with 993 RS trivia to the nth degree, please be slightly careful of this 911 & Porsche world article.

For example it states;

The windscreen glass is thinner

Not the case, the windscreen glass is the same as other 993 for safety reasons, only side and rear glass is thin

The 993 RS came with drilled alunimium pedals as standard fitment

No, the pedals were the same as regular 993, aluminium pedals were not on the factrory options list.

The RSR rear spoiler is the same as that fitted to the GT2.

AS mentioned in other posts on this thread, similar, but there are subtle differences between the two.

I can't say I have read the whole article, there may be even more bloopers? But after the inaccuracies above, you sort of lose respect that the author has even a clue!

Unfortunately there seems to be an increasing level of misinformation in the UK based 911 mags of late. There have been lots of articles on 993s & RSs of every generation but the writers seem to have less obsessive levels of knowledge. You`d expect that in articles for more generalized mags but it`s annoying to say the least in publications as specialized as these.

BTW, anyone with more pics of Jeff`s RS don`t hesitate in posting!!!!!!

Yes, the one I am trying to get to the US is the one featured in the mags, we do quite a lot with them, it works well, they get to borrow our cars and all we ask is they leave the Malton plates on the cars.
