A trip yesterday along the Blue Ridge Pkwy in our '95 aventurine green cab. Nice and cool all day. I even let my wife drive. She did great but I think she still likes her Z3 roadster better.

In 2006 my wife and I drove the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway, albeit in a rental car.
We love it all the way. Hopefully one day I can revisit with my Ruf or Cayman. Then I'll hit the Tail of the Dragon at the same time.
Your drive in a 993 cab must be magnitudes more enjoyable. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I agree 100% about the Cherohala Skyway. The only bad part is it has been 'discovered' by the same Dragon motorcycle crowd and it is much more crowded than it used to be. A few years back (2003 or so) we could drive the entire distance and see less than 10 cars coming the opposite way. It was unreal that no one was on the road. We went last year and what a difference, with wrecks and loads of bikes. Still a fun exciting ride though with views equal to the parkway. A weekday would be best and there are some nice lunch restaurants on the TN side vs fast food in Robbinsville, NC.

It is great once you get to these roads way out in the boonies but getting there and back on the nations murderways is brutal. My car took a beating on our recent WV meet
