Controversial Point Alert!!! Read no further as you will find a contrary POV!
Go without the bar. You lose almost an additional inch of clearance with the bar Think about that ...one inch less clearance on an already lowered (presumably) car.
"But Ed, what are you talking about ...the bar will protect my front end from scrapes?!!" Yeah, as you scrape it across the pavement you would not have scraped it against had you not put one on. Keep in mind my opinion is in no way a comment on Gert or the fine customer service he provides ...but suffice it to say I sold the bar in a week. And I drive mine daily, knowing my car is lowered, since 2001. Clearly, all IMHO.

So happens I have a set of rather worn RS splitters that's survived about 20K miles of normal driving. I'm ready to get a set of Poly RS splitter on. A fair test is probably to see how these new ones fare with the FPB installed after 20K.
Wait for the pics...should take about 3 years ;-)

For RS right hight with my C4S, there is no way to get in my driveway with FPB. I have one on my convertible (RS + 10 mm) and sometimes it barely scratches when I go in.

Burning Brakes
I purchased this one on ebay and it works great. It was only $60 and was made very well.

I'm careful going in and out of my drive--all drives for that matter--but I bang and scrape the hell out of the FPB out on the road, going across intersections with relatively samll dips. Very weird. I'm beginning to wonder about the trade-off and relative merits, etc., of have a FPB vs. going ohne Schutz.

Mine has been on my 993 for about 10k worth of DE track days and weekend crappy city of chicago roads (car is lowered). I couldn't imagine being without Gert's bar to be honest with our crappy roads! (sorry I don't have one FS but gluck)

Three Wheelin'
I never installed mine. i wasn't worried about it scraping, I was mostly worried the FPB might catch on a curb or something and rip up the underbody at one of the attachment points.

Well, I just bought one and found that it doesn't protect my RS type splitters when pulling into my driveway. It has always scraped, but since they are now freshly painted, I thought I would take some preventative measures.
So now I am fabricating some 3/8" spacers to lower the bar and protect the splitters. If it works, I'll let you know. If it scrapes everywhere like others have said, I'll return it to it's original condition and sell it here.
Hopefully tomorrow will be test day.
