immobilizer troubleshoot
Sometimes my immobilizer won't deactivate/immobilize my car, this happens once every few months or so and then magically fixes itself and works again for another few months, both my immobilizers are new, both new batteries. Why does my alarm not sense the immobilizer? Does this ever happen to you? Maybe something in my alarm system needs to be replaced. Ideas welcomed

I usually find that prayer works wonders. The IMMOBILIZER god demands homage and complete submission. I've been trying to find an 18 yr. old virgin to sacrifice but my wife objects and it's just as well....they're hard to find these days! (Just kidding!) When it does arm, do the door LED's blink normally or is there a fast double-blink?

Sounds very familar. I've had the system put on the dealer computer system, to no avail. It usually will arm again if I go have a drink or two and return to the car. But I've given up trying to figure it out. I've even replaced the alarm control module, but, no love. Some days it works great, other days I'm afraid to leave any valuables in car since it won't lock. Good Luck!

I've been pondering...Perhaps your IMMOBILIZER is working just fine. Perhaps there's something on the car that's telling it NOT to arm. Perhaps an ignition switch that, altho the key is removed, is sticking as tho the key were still in it. Or an intermittent, faulty door switch, hood or rear deck switch. All these things have to be set properly in order for the system to arm.
