Hole in Air Box Boot
Not sure what to call this thing... When my alternator belt broke it sliced a small hole in this air flow boot. Now it's a big hole causing my Check Engine light to come on.
Any ideas on what I'm looking at as far as a repair? Can I order the part and do it myself?
thanks,
JC

I think that part is around $45.00 USD. It has 2-3 bolts holding it on and is very easy to replace. Takes about 5 minutes to do. You need to get it replaced as it helps airflow over the cylinders. Very common failure. I have replaced mine.

Thanks Mike,
Are there bolts on the bottom that I can't see? I see the ones on the top, but I can't tell how far i goes down and into the engine compartment - and how it connects down there...

Lik Mike said, you can buy this from pelican or Sunset for $45 and replace it yourself. Very common and simple to replace. However, that hole is not what is causing your CEL.
Do you know which CEL code are you getting? Did you use OEM Porsche belts?

Yes, that's the part.
I wonder what is causing your CEL. Do you have a scanner? If you're close to Alpharetta, you're welcome to come by so we can read it. Also, Pepboys will scan it for free and tell you the code.
