Default WTB: 993 WB Coupe

I am beginning a search for 993 Widebody Coupe and would appreciate any help that any of you might be able to offer. I am looking for an "investment quality" car (I know, I know, cars aren't investments!). By this I mean a very low mile car (less than 30K miles and preferrably less than 20K miles), no stories, few owners, and "desirable colour combos" like Silver, Black or Guards Red on black interior. I will consider other colour combos, those are just my preferences. Thanks in advance

Several dealers well respected, Holt, Truspeed, Wilhoit...then you can just watch as some come available on these forums. Sounds like you know cars, I like your website. I had a 93 ZR-1, only had 14000 miles and probably the absolute cleanest car I have ever owned top and bottom. Sold it to a PGA golfer.

There have been a few member cars for sale recently but one does not come to mind at this second. You can always check out truspeed, rpm and holt for some ideas...they are pricey but great feedback from members that have purchased models from those dealers. There was a white c4s that sold recently that had more miles (60k or so) but looked like a garage queen with nice standard rennlist mods plus a top end. Condition and proper sevice is more important to me. I bought a low mile 993t (tick under 10k miles) but had to go through some lack of use issues and now I'm close to 30k miles. My opinion is that super low miles for these cars is not worth the premium unless you are not going to drive it but take it to shows.

Thanks guys, but at this point in my search, I am focussing on a private sale so I can get a feeling for the owner. I have two leads so far, please keep the PM's coming!

That would make me very uncomfortable if I were selling mine.

I'm not sure I follow you? I'm saying that I like to know who I am buying a car from to try and get some idea of whether they flogged the car or teated it as I would have. If this would make you nervous, then I probably wouldn't buy your car

I think that's why many of us try and buy from a fellow Rennlister. As an example, one of the fellows that has responded to my ad is a Rennlister, he has a beautiful car and I've read all his previous posts and have a pretty good feeling for how he treats the car. Based on this, I would have no problem taking the next steps and getting a PPI etc.

I think H was yanking your chain for what you wrote and its double entendre.

I thought all chain-yanking comments required the obligatory

Couldn't hurt to ask a Holt, Truspeed, Wilhoit, Sloane for the PO's contact info once you've zero'd in on a car, worse they can do is say "no". That way you're opening yourself up to a much greater selection of cars.

Thanks for the PM's so far everyone. I had nice chats with 2 members today who have beautiful cars that they are thinking about selling. For the others that PM'd or those that might be thinking about about responding, I would prefer that you list your asking price in the message please to save us both some time. I am looking to pay a fair market price for the right car...I don't want to steal your car and I am not rich enough (or dumb enough ) to overpay At the end of the day I would like a deal that is good for both of us

Just an update...I have two cars on my short list so far - both with mileage in the low to mid teens. I will consider cars up to about the 30,000 mile mark if anyone else is thinking about selling Thanks again to everyone that has responded. I really appreciate it!
