Default 993

Hi guys

Anyone have any idea what "rear blower motor Stage 1 seized" means from the 9288 tester (Bosch Hammer) on my 1997 993? The manual talks about several things, but nothing about the blower motor. Which motor is it, and where is it? Does i need to be replaced. I f so, where is the cheapist vendor?

Thanks

Philip

Correct me someone if I'm wrong here but... I just got my 993 2 weeks ago and during the PPI I had a similar issue but mine was Stage 2 failed. In my case it is the blower motor in the engine compartment top left when looking into the engine compartment. my motor actually has a bit of vibration to it. Needs to be replaced soon. Yours is probably the same motor.

With your car idling, turn your AC temp gauge all the way to hot and crank up the fan to high. If you get nothing, it's the blower on the left side of your engine compartment.

Hi Guys
I found out it was the ballast resistor, which had burned off a solder connection. I resoldered it, and the primary (low speed) stage now works. The secondary is the high speed. I still get the code on the Hammer, so I ordered a new resistor, whic i hope will fix the problem. I think the soldered resistance is still too high. The fan itself works fine when I switch it on using the Hammer, both high and low speed.
Thanks
Philip
