Default Alpine 7894 skipping

I'm not very savvy when it comes to car stereos so I wonder if you guys have any thoughts. The PO installed this nice head unit and everything sounds great (hi-fi sound package) except when using a CD and hitting any small/moderate bump in the road where it skips almost every time.

I hardly listen to the radio let alone the CD player but it's one of those annoying little things i want to fix.

Thoughts on what it might be or how to go about fixing it?

Check to see if there is a level type of switch on the side of the unit. The dash on our cars have a slight tilt and you have to correct the disc angle with a lever or switch..

Give me your PSS10s, go back to stock suspension and switch to some 17" wheels.

Ha...good try! I know just enough to know that something is wrong with the CD player...I've had worse head units in stiff jeeps that had rides just as harsh as the 993 and were just fine. Thanks for the offer

Barney, thanks for the good suggestion. That is a good starting point and I can check to see if the unit is secured tightly...I would guess a loose unit would cause skipping.

Anyone else have any suggestions to check while I'm in there?
