Door Squeaks

Door Squeaks
Both my left and right doors squeak at maximum open position. The door check is not the source. It's not the hinge. It sounds like a piece of rubber, rubbing
inside the door well, out of sight. There is a rubber block inside the door well of my 356 that acts as a detent. Is there some similar rubber item used in the 993 that acts as a kind of stop or bumper? I looked in the parts catalog but didn't see anything I could recognize. Anybody else experience this?
Thanks,
RB

Hi there is a rubber tube (for drainage from something) that can cause a squeak. I believe you can see it with a flash light on the very front of the door as you open it (between the door and front fender). Keep looking it is there, just put a little grease on it and it will stop squeaking!

You're right, I did see the tube but discounted it. I thought it cleared the door but you've made me rethink it. I have no doubt that's it. I'll grease it up in the AM.
Many thanks,
RB
