Default RS heater bypass help.

Why doesn't it fit? When the lower part is inserted into the duct, the upper end is about 2 inches too high to attach to the fan shroud. It's as if the duct is too long. Part number is: 993-211-941-00, which Pelican, and my dealer says is correct...
I'll get a picture up in a bit.
Anyone have an idea?

I keep hearing that the only way it will fit is if you purchase a different shroud for where the top of the pipe inserts.

I was beginning to suspect that. So, anyone know a part number?

If it isn't found as part of a search, I would contact Jeff Clark at Sunset Imports in Oregon.
He should be able to help with P/N and locating one.

Check with Jeff Scott (jscott82) - I believe he knows the correct part number.

Do you have the Porsche version, or Fabspeed's Platinum Edition?

Falcon
I had the same problem you are having. I couldn't be arsed buying the shroud to make it all fit. It would cost another 100 bucks and I'd have to wait a few weeks for it to be delivered. The thing is only slightly off and only moves hot air. So I bought some flexiable heat pipe, installed it at the base of the pipe, just enough to allow a few cm's more length and a slight tilt in angle. It fit perfectly - but was a PITA to install. Pipe cost me less than 15 bucks and looks good.

All late model 1996 993's, and all 1997-1998 993's need the 964 fan shroud to work with the heater bypass pipe, whether the RS or Fabspeed's carbon fiber style heater bypass.
