You must strap your real wheels down too. It reduces the possibility of the car bouncing on rough roads. More important, my car went on slightly to one side, and the front webbing went on a little skewed. When I checked at my first stop just before going over the Grapevine, I found that the webbing had completely fallen off one of the front wheels. If the rears had not been strapped down, the car would have been secured to the trailer by only one wheel! I reattached the webbing, and put an additional tie around it to be sure, and had no further problems. The drive itself was very smooth.
