Default Help - I am bored....yes this is 993 related.

The suspension is done, engine refreshed, chipped, LTW flywheel, exterior done, RS interior done, fixed & upgraded all the problematic bits, lightened everything I can. Car is running great, but now I am bored. Anyone here has a Varioram intake, supercharger, turbo that they can sell me to get me back in trouble?

Does a Varioram+Re-gear = Supercharger? They seem cost about the same.

Anthony:

In the back of Excellence, there are ads by a number of major Porsche dismantlers. You might try one of them for a Varioram, if you haven't already.

Also, maybe you should get an old Alfa to restore, to relieve the boredom...

Those guys want an arm + leg for the intake.

As for the alfa....I have always drooled over a red duetto and the GTV/A.

Anthony.

If you are bored you can come over and help me clean up the mess the storm made in my yard.

Or you can go see my engine dropped over at RUF.
What's going on with your car at RUF? Upgrade?

I'd skip the VR. I don't think the few extra numbers are worth the ~20lbs in the rear. I'd keep working on the weight. How'bout RS roof (~40lbs) or CF rear deck lid (~50lbs)?

Then again, if you're a real masochist, you could buy an old British sports car. Then you'd never be out of something to do!

I respectfully disagree. The improvement is noticeable on a street car. IMHO adding v-ram is a cost effective mod if you do the work yourself. My total outlay was approx $1100. Not bad for +44 ft lbs of torque (see Paul Frere's Porsche 911 Story) in the midrange.

I am already <2900lbs with a full tank of gas. So losing more weight would be $$$ and less bang for the buck.

Louis, the VR is supposed to give you more torque which is what I like. You think it is not as effective as on the 96+?

The full tail/electric spoiler assembly is about 27 pounds, not 50.
