Default Mounting a data-logger

Any of you guys have any better ideas to mount a data logger in a 993. This is a Racepak IQ3 (similar to Aim Pista or Motec dash). I've come up with this idea, which I mocked up in thin sheet aluminum. I'd drill four holes in the upper plastic steering column trim piece and one on the underside of the upper dash lip. Any other ideas would be welcomed.

If this idea looks good, I'll fab it up in thicker sheet aluminum.

I was told that Pin 5 carries rpm/tach. Does anyone know which DME Pin (or wire colors) carries throttle position (early 95 model). And, what's the best place/way to tap into brake on/off.
