If this offers any hope - I just bought my c4 from a Rennlister. For me, buying from a Rennlister offered a huge element of comfort.

Good luck. Beautiful car!

Nice car! Are the rims painted white? This is quite unusual and a very special taste that might distract the broader audience that looks for a more original look. You might increase your chances by repainting them to OEM finish or replacing them with another set of OEM rims.

I am speaking from experience. When I bought my 4S it was offered again without a big wing and some rims that the previous owner liked but obviously not the majority. He told me after the "transformation back to stock look" he got plenty of serious interest in this car. I made him an offer within minutes pending a PPI and was the lucky buyer for a great price!

GL with the sale.

Default factory option wheels

Jay was nice enough to send me a copy of the window sticker...those painted wheels were a $1100 or so option if I remember right.

Not my taste either, but certainly something the next owner should store for safe keeping, IMHO.

I like the white rims on a white car. You don't see the combo often .. nice to be a little different.

Default Loads of new pics and new price

I took a bunch of new pics and lowered the price to 38500. In the interest of full disclosure, CEL comes on and throws codes for the SAI on both sides...but oil consumption is still below what Porsche say's is normal. Some people are going to freak...thinking the top end needs to be done. Those familiar with air cooled engines will hopefully see it for what it is. With this in mind I'm willing to be flexible on price.

Enjoy the spring my friends!

Best!

Don't take this the wrong way, but does a 97 C4S with 81K miles and the CEL light on command $38500? If so, I'm going to be in extremely better shape than I thought when I go to eventually sell mine because I'm in pretty much the same boat mileage wise and CEL wise.

Good luck with the sale. I wasn't expecting anywhere near that much money for mine but it is a 96 not a 97.

Cheers,
Steve R

Also, condition of any car and service history play a part, too. An immaculate, and I mean immaculate, car with comprehensive service records might command upper 30s, even with 80K and CEL.

Tough sell with a CEL. It really puts you in a weak position IMHO. It might well be a very good investment to fix the CEL and swap on some std turbo twists for a quicker sale at a decent price. Good luck!

That said, I agree with the posts above. Fixing the CEL would be a good call.
