Default new camera shots

Well, my wife got a new Lumix ZS3, and since the wardens just opened the winter gate to Highway 66, we headed up into Rainy Pass, west of Bragg Creek this afternoon, to take some pics. That's Forgetmenot Ridge in the background:

Here's a frontal shot; and yeah, Andreas, I wiped the fingerprints off as soon as I got home:

Here's one with better light, and Nihahi Ridge in the background:

And some grocery chores on the way home. It swallowed these up, no problem. Not bad, for a non daily driver, eh?

Highway 66 is the closest twisty mountain road to Calgary, and is a good place to give the car a good workout.

Beautiful! I liked all of the shots except for the last one where you're blocking the view of that great car with a damn shopping cart.

More, please.

...what river is that?
That's the Elbow, which eventually flows into Calgary, joining the Bow at Fort Calgary. It has Brook, Rainbow, Bull, and Brown Trout.

...damn shopping cart...
I keep the car out of the malls, but this one was right on the way home. Luckily, it wasn't busy, and I found a good clear area well away from potential door bashers.

The low light pic is nice as well, brings out the dark shade of the Arena Red. Amazing scenery, thanks for sharing!

Hey Bert, nice to hear from you. And there you were, with that awesome car!:

I'm planning to post some pictures of the B B Q in the Wild Rose forum.

Enjoyed meeting you and the rest of the group at my first PCA function; what a great bunch!

Happy to oblige:

Here's a couple taken 2 weeks ago from the top of Prairie Mountain, which is just down the road (during a hike), using a Nikon D40. This upper Elbow Valley area has good pre-season hiking.

The Fisher Range:

And Moose Mountain:
