Thanks everyone, I'm totally in love with this car, just went on an 80 mile drive through the mountains and the coast, I could feel the power of the "basket handle" coursing through it's veins
So I'm not really sure what else I can tell you about the car, its a '95, totally stock with the only modification being an alpine stereo. The car's got the Hi-fi sound system, which sounds pretty sweet, but I'm sure will sound even sweeter once I'm done fiddling with it. The car just had some big money items taken care of, new clutch kit and flywheel, clutch slave cylinder, new rotors and brakes, new A/C condenser, sunroof repairs, tires, the list goes on and on, needless to say the thing drives great!
From what I can gather, I don't believe it's had a valve job yet, but the car doesn't seem to be burning much oil at all, and when I start it after sitting overnight, not one puff of smoke from the exhaust, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for now.
I've been looking at 993's for a while now, but it's been hard to find one with the color combo I wanted, with the hi-fi sound system, and be a '95 ( More smog friendly in California; SAI CEL). Another model I considered was a black on black 964 to make a widebody out of, or just find one already converted. But then this car came along, and it was the right car at the right time.
One thing the car does need is new tie-rod inner joints, apparently the rubber is deteriorating in the ones on the car, and the tie rod can move back and forth in the joint ever so slightly, I believe that might be causing a kind of a woolly feeling I'm picking up in the steering.
boulderbobo: I totally agree, the technology on this thing is way more advanced than my '79 is, and way more comfortable to drive.
KLSpeed27: Good to see someone else is crazy as hell here

Great looking 993
Welcome to our community, I just joined a couple of months ago! You have the best color 993, Ocean Blue Metallic... just like my '98, walk around the car and you see different shades dependent on the light reflecting back...
Enjoy!

I came from an 84 Targa and while I loved that car, the feel of having to drive it, the 993 is beyond my expectations. Absolutely love it.
Enjoy and welcome!

It looks great! You'll love it more each day! It will make you go to the garage just to take a peek every hour! Good Luck!

Burning Brakes
Yo - if Meatwad had to transform into a car - he'd shapeshift into a 993 !!!
993 is a great car. But like everyone says - get ready for the slope.
Sounds like you might be doing Bilstein HD's or PSS10's first.
Good luck

haygeebaby: Yeah but he'd end up looking like a hotdog "close enough" I guess my "woolly" comment has shown my hand already I have a set of Bilstein HD's on my '79 widebody and love them. My '79 911SC is solid as a rock. I want that same kind of stability in my 993, but I don't want to take away from the ride smoothness, is this kind of balance possible?
mrsullivan: The interior is flawless on this car, even the seats are in extremely good condition for 75k miles. The condition of the interior is no doubt one of the reasons why I fell for this car
murfysflaw: I've been on the "other side of the fence" (impact bumper land) for so long, I never hear those type of things over there, but I get what you're saying now, I love this car.
everyone else: Thank you so much for the kind words! I am familiar with the CONCEPT of the slippery slope from my SC, but like you guys say, I have a feeling the slope is a little more steep and slippery with this car
