Reinstalling the engine. I have a group of red wires for the big terminal on the starter, a yellow wire for the small terminal on the starter, and two large black, appear to be ground, wires. I beleive the large ground form above the tranny connects to the starter moutning bolt. Where do I connect the large grounbd wire coming from the front of the car?

TIA, there will be more questions I'm sure.

The large neg batt cable coming from the pass side body goes to the lower starter stud.
The large red cable goes to the large starter terminal (this is in the harness coming from engine).
There is a longer small wire coming from the starter harness that goes to the reverse switch in the trans...
Sounds like you have the starter solenoid wire accounted for.

Any chance you can post a pic of the wires in question?

I tried, but it's so dark it is not clear. It is a large 1-2awg black wire that comes from the front of the car, through the body, and lands in near the starter/tranny area.

The large black cable goes to the lower starter stud.

I was trying to understand what other wires you were sorting out...

Thanks. I have another large black wire, same size, coming doen from above the tranny. Do they both go to the starter stud?

hmm...
There is a ground strap that comes from the body attaches to the lower starter stud.
There will be a pos batt cable that goes to the starter (coming from the front of the car) that attaches to the starter solenoid lug.
There is another large pos cable that comes from the engine harness and also goes to the starter solenoid lug.

hopefully that is clearer... I went looking for a pic but I don't have any... at least that I can find.
