Hi JPS,
My search took 9 months, and it was arduous as I had found another car, a C4 in CA, prior to this one, closed the deal, done the PPI, and when it was time to pay for it, the owner changed his mind and said that the agreed priced was too low..... In fact the negotiation for the purchase of the Targa was smooth. It took about 3 weeks.
So be careful in shelling out money before you are as much certain as you can that you have a serious seller on the other side.
Also, go see the car in person. I had promised to myself I would never buy a car without checking it personally, and I did not keep my promise...... The car is great, but there are some things that the previous owner did not disclose to me, and that they were not picked by the PPI, and now I'll have to pay for them......
But the joy of being behind the wheel of a 993 is worth every dollar, even if I had paid top $ for today's market.
