Well... there are a couple of challenges with the AWD cars... it could be done but we would need the car in the shop to do it.
The front pivot point for the forward rod is mounted to the torque tube.
Also, the RS lever contacts the center under panel.
I wish there was an easier way but there just isn't. It can be done but requires some metal work.

well if you ever come out with one for AWD/TT, put me down on the waiting list! 
and in the meantime I may have to think about getting this for the cab. is this an exchange part or are you selling w/o exchange?

It doesn't have to be this long but on the 2wd cars that is where the mount point is designed into the chassis.
The AWD cars have a shorter forward rod.
The rod needs to be of some length to provide the movement necessary for the lever base to move side to side, front to back. The rod needs to pivot at both ends to get the necessary degree of angle.
A rod with rod ends like we are using takes all of the slop out of the design. There is no flex in that SS rod...
Now, if you redesign or replace the entire shift mechanism, it's another story.
There are other solutions out there... that are usually seen in race applications.

A bolt in kit for AWD/TT cars is not possible... even if we solved the front mount issue there would be work in dealing with the lower position of the RS shift lever. Not a show-stopper but not a bolt-in-and-drive solution.
There is no exchange on these as it is a complete replacement for the existing parts.

Yes that's right but the RWD conversion involved welding the 2wd/RS shifter box. So no matter how you look at it, there's welding involved.
Apart from that, it's bolt on, except you need to create a hump in the tranny sheet metal cover.. Unless you want to remove it completely but I don't know if that's adviseable..

quick note, I was asked by a couple of folks via PM if this kit will fit a 964 C2...
Short answer is "Yes!"
On early 91 (and prior) cars you do have to modify the shift box to accept the bushings for the later cars. Easy to do but not a "bolt in" kit on these cars. This is the same mod needed if you simplay want to install the RS shift parts and has nothing to do with the forward rod portion of the kit.
The RS-style shift rods (aka Golden Rod) also fit the 964 C2.
