Default Tire Size Calculator 17's vs 18's

Looking for some advice here. Trying to see if I can fit some track tires on my car without rolling the fenders. The car has H&R springs and HD's, it sits 25 inches in the front and 25.5 in the rear. I want to go with 235/40/17 and 275/40/17 in this tire http://www.nittotire.com/#index.tire.nt01.sizes

I currently track 18's in 225/40 and 265/35 with no issues. Based on the differences below you think I will have any rubbing issues mounting.

Tire Size Comparison

Fronts...
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
225/40-18 3.5in 12.5in 25.1in 78.8in 804 0.0%
235/40-17 3.7in 12.2in 24.4in 76.7in 827 -2.7%

Rears...
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
265/35-18 3.7in 12.7in 25.3in 79.5in 797 0.0%
275/40-17 4.3in 12.8in 25.7in 80.6in 786 1.4%

thanks!

Try this. It can give reasonably good dimensions.

Although I haven't punched your numbers in, it looks like you may be getting close to the 5% maximum difference for the antiskid computer with that tire combo.

Try these spread sheets HERE and HERE

thanks, I've never heard of the 5% difference messing up the ABS. I think maybe I'll just go with 225/45-17 and 255/40-17 and not hassle with them fitting.

If you use 235/45/17 and 275/40/17, they'll be closer in diameter front to back.
Do the Nitto's come in that size?

Oh, I get it now, the diameter front to back has to be within 5% huh? I want to make these Nitto's work because they are only $700 shipped for all 4.
