Default Odyssey PC925 vs. Odyssey PC1200MJT

On the advice of some smart Rennlisters, I decided to replace my old battery with the Odyssey 925. Upon calling Odyssey to order it however, a nice lady said that the battery for my 1996 C4S would not be the 925, but rather the Odyssey PC1200MJT.

Before I buy, I thought I'd post and see if any of you have any input, advice, or suggestions about this. Should I ignore her advice and buy the 925 or is the 1200 the way to go? Is there something you all know about the 925 that the nice lady at Odyssey might not know? I'm looking for a nice lightweight battery that won't give me any hassles.

Thanks in advance, as always.

I bought my 925 from Rennline, you might try them. Had it for several months with no problem. I did recently buy a Battery Tender, Jr. to plug in when it sits for a week or so. Mine is a C4 with AC, HiFi, etc - pretty standard fare.

I would advise against the Odyssey. I had lots of problems with my 925 and finally went back to a conventional battery from interstate. Now no problems.
Just my $.02!

For weight and lack of fluid to spill, it's a great battery. My original battery did not hold a charge (I use a tender) so Odyssey replaced it in full no questions asked. But for a DD an optima or standard battery is probably a better choice.

I've had my Odyssey 925 for about two years and have never had any issues with it. Keep in mind that I have a dedicated track car that is the furthest thing from a daily driver, and that I pull the battery kill switch to kill the juice whenever the car is in the garage.

I just came across the ancient thread in a search and it would be great to hear if anyone tried the Odyssey PC1200MJT in a 993 rather than a 925 given all the issues I am reading about with the 925.
