Which size 18" tire for Carrera II Boxster S Wheels on Narrow Body 993?
I understand that Boxster S Carrera II (MY02 5 spoke)wheels will fit my narrow body, factory 030 suspension, stock height late '95 993 coupe. The wheels are 7.5 x 18" ET50 front and 9 x 18" ET52 rear. However which tires will fit best? Stock Boxster S tires are 225/40 ZR18 front and 265/35 ZR18 rear. Will these tires work well on the 993 at the stock ride height?
What tires sizes are other using with these wheels?
Thanks.

David,
On the Tec Q & A of the PCA site, there was a post about doing what you suggest. Have you seen it done successfully? Here's the post:

Joel, Looking at a set of turbo twist wheels, rears are fine 993 362 140 04 but not sure if fronts are okay 993 362 138 01 18x9 52 offset. Would there be a clearance problem, due to width, originally for boxster now on a 996.

So you have 996 rears, and Boxster rears, and you want to run the 996 rears on the back of your 993, and the Boxster rears on the front of your 993. 18x9 ET 52 won't fit the front of a 993 without doing some work. They won't clear the stock springs, so you'd be talking about running aftermarket motorsport-type springs & shocks. You may also need to run more negative camber to get the tires to clear, but it depends on which tires you run. If you run a 225, they should fit all day, but then you don't need a 9" wheel. If you run 245's, it will be really really close. You might just be OK. You list Combination Street & Track use, but I hope & assume you are thinking that this setup is only for track use. If you try it, let us know if it works for you.
