Default Cleaning fuel injectors

I had a friend recommend that I use some Red Line SI-1 to clean out the fuel injectors on the 993. I was wondering what you guys have to say about using this stuff on the 993.

One friend already told me not to - saying it would damage the fuel lines. He said that it would be better to get the injectors taken out of the car and professionally cleaned.

What do you think ?

Have you considered first something less invasive of the wallet, like

or

and what Steve Weiner says about injectors

I've always been weary of cleaners like this for fear of where the removed material goes. Is it safe? I assume so reading Steve's post.

Recommended to run the cleaner in the last tankful just before oil change, though one of my trusted mechanics said ok a bottle at any time. The 993 do have 2 filters.

I've been using RedLine SI-1 in three Porsches and one BMW for 10 years. It's a great product and perfectly safe. It has also been recommended to me my numerous Porsche and BMW technicians. I use a bottle every few thousand miles.

Good to know. I'll make sure to get some before the next oil change

only thing I don't like about redline:
Take any metalic piece, a bolt for me, and dip it into the redline bottle.
leave it a few hours, and the red liquid turns into jello, and then a hard sticky gooey.
but this does not mean anything...
But if you immerse the injectors in this stuff overnight, they will stick, ask me how I know.
