Default Track seat advice

I had my first track day of the year yesterday. Had a great time, but came away wishing that I had a more bolstered seat for better on-track performance. What would you guys suggest for an improvement over the OEM hardback seats that would be great for the track but not too uncomfortable or unwieldy for everyday driving?

thanks,
Chris

Leather Pole Positions or GT3 seats would be my choice.

How does the GT3 compare to the PP in terms of butt fitment? wider/narrower?

^^^^^ What he said! If I had to choose one......I'd go with GT3 seats (alcantara with silver contrast stitching to be more specific)

The GT3 and PP have essentially the same bucket. The GT3 is wider then at the shoulders and with the lollypop head.

I have found my Recaro SRDs to be a nice compromise between street and track. They are comfortable yet aggressive enough for DE purposes still using the stock 3 point belt. The two piece, reclinable design makes it so you can still get access into the back. Plus the are fairly inexpensive. I paid $1150 for the pair and that included the sub belt hole which was extra.

Thanks Bob!, I like the GT3 large harness holes, but the lollipop head is awkward looking

How about the GT2 versions?

thanks guys....my challenge is also to find seats that my wife (who is 5 feet tall) can get in and out of easily, cause if she doesn't like 'em, I'm gonna have to hear about it.....

Smaller drivers have a much easier time of it than the bigger guys

How about the SPARCO pro 2000 series? Anybody with time on them? I saw a couple of guys that had them on their GT3s during some DEs. They felt pretty comfortable and purposeful. They come with the option of leather, they don't have the lollipop heads and they have descent sized harness portholes. Just another option...

Your wife will be comfortable in the Pole Positions. Tell her to bring a booster pillow so she can see through the windshield.

Bill, from what I recall, the GT3 seats seemed wider in the hips than the Pole Position that I have on the passenger's side. Maybe someone with GT3 seats can measure the side-to-side interior dimension while I measure the PP's.
