Default A quick visit with the Cactus

The family unit and I spent the day enjoying Hershey Park. Clear blue skies and temps in the 70s made for a perfect day. On the way home, we detoured deep into Amish country to pay homage to the House of Saguaro.

Our hero had just finished an all-day detail to the Cactuswagon (CW) and was ready for a bit o' silliness. Unfortunately, the humor ground to a screeching halt when we spent more than an hour wrestling with the hood crest seal. We tried everything that we could think of and finally threw in the towel. I believe this entitles us for a free, all-expenses-paid, trip on the Fail Boat.....

Regardless, the CW was in top form and glistened like never before. Here's a few pics:

We (Chris and I), sort of did the same thing today. Instead of exterior, we did the insides. Took a 993 motor out and detail and cleaned it. LOL!

The whole time we were shooting for the Andreas level of clean and shine.

Before

After

Just kidding, this wasn't a one day job.

Seriously dude, your name pops up all the time during our typical R&R.

Conversation goes like this....

"Oh man, did you see Andreas got his car up as high as possible on the jack stand, and cleaned everything under the car like brand new!"

"Amazing, damn, that's crazy!!!"

Face it you are our hero! LOL! So ,that's why on every major rebuild we are shooting for your standards.

Andreas,

Do you know where cactus got his wheels? They look like RUF but are they original? I am thinking of doing a similar look but with standard turbo twists. At this point as I need new rubber anyways, new wheels may be the route to go. Thanks.

Yeah WTF!!

The car looks fantastic.

I like the threads when Cactus and Andreas get together. It's like a sitcom.

They are 18" RUF wheels and were refinished by the PO.

I may be fanatical with areas on my car that are never seen, but this character truly keeps a clean ride. The interior is spotless - far more than I can say for my junker.

Ain't that the truth. I just try to keep my fellow Rennlisters apprised of his unique wackiness.

Everytime I see pics like this I have to go out and wash my car! Beautiful, and love the wheels.

Also like the guage rings. In fact, first time I have seen a set that I like. Source? Are they permanent or do they just pop in and out?

Thanks in advance. PM me if you would like to clean my car.
