Default Hose Reel - not the world's most expensive....

I've been looking (not too seriously) for an inexpensive wheel to make a hose reel ever since I saw Andreas' nice work last fall. I finally found a Fuchs wheel with part of the inner lip torn on ebay for $20. I was in the process of gathering the stuff to weld a bracket when full boost posted his tire hose reel and just bolted the sucker to the wall. Since my wheel is damaged anyway and will never be a wheel again, I did the same thing. I glued on some old lug nuts for aesthetics and now I am in search of a center cap that won't cost too much more than the wheel. With all this hose reel action lately, maybe we can get the moderators to add a Hose Reel Forum.

I only wish I had a house, so I could hang up a hose reel too!

Looks good! Still love the Fuchs.

Nowhere else, even on the internet, is it acceptable and even encouraged to hang spare wheels on the side of your house!

(p.s. I'm jealous...thats cool )

Now I know what to do with that bent Fuchs I have in my attic. My better half nixed the lamp idea...

I can't believe she only HALF nixed the idea. Mine said "no way you're making a coffee table out of that". However, she does like the hose reel.

I think you're right....I did some searching and can't find ANY hose reels from old wheels! I was really hoping for a monster truck tire rim on the side of a trailer home sort of pic.... I can't believe rednecks haven't taken the lead on this sort of thing! (I'm part redneck, so I can say that!)
