Michelin Tire Updates
I may have missed where Michelin now has pilot sports in 285's. I thought in the past they just and the rib in the size for us Wide Bodies and the pilot sports were just in NB fitment.
Are they new this year because Tire Rack still has the old tires.
I'm looking to ditch my p-zeros, they suck!

Just for clarification, Michelin makes several tires under the "Pilot Sport" moniker. Pilot Sport, Pilot Sport "rib", Pilot Sport AS (all season), PS2. There may be more but not all variations are available in all sizes. Last I checked, PS2s were not available in 285/30-18.
Edit; just checked Tirerack and there are several new sizes/ratings of PS2 available including 285/30-18 N3 (Porsche). Guess I should recheck before posting next time.

The price differential between the 265/35x18 and the 285/30x18 is HUGE at $112.00 or 35% more just for 20mm of rubber. For track days I understand the logic of wanting the extra 20mm of rubber but I wouldnt use PS2's for a track day. For Auto-X applications for which this tire is terrific I prefer to have the narrower rear tire to assist in rotating the rear end more easily. I used to run PS Ribs and was faster on the 265's versus the 285's in Auto-X, on the road I couldnt tell the difference.
