Default Old Pads New Rotors

Heading to the track on Friday and just want to ask you all a question. I have some old Pagid Black Pads from a friends 993. I'm installing new rotors on my 993 right now. Is it ok to use the old pads? They look even in terms of wear with lots of life left. Will the pad seat properly on a new rotor though?

I'm guessing I should install the old pads, bed them in and take a look at the rotor to make sure the contact is even?

Thanks in advance, I tried a search but thought I would ask anyway.

Dan

Ideally you do both at the same time but it depends on how grooved they are. It's a judgement call.

If you use grooved pads on new rotors the wear of both will be accelerated and braking compromised untill they are fully wedded to each other.

Thanks again Bill, the pads are smooth so hopefully that helps. Picking up those 964 bits to fix the seats tomorrow. I'll post pics when it's done. Thanks again.
