fwiw, I just walked into Fast Forward in Monterey Park (and the place Pcars.com uses as their service shop) and bought one out the door for $124.00 which at least was less than eBay. The guy that runs the place seemed like a nice guy; he used to be a manager at Pelican. I'm guessing he'd be up for an offer on a group buy(?)

I've called them and talked to somebody there before. I just haven't been able to make it work so that I can actually visit them in person when I've taken trips to SoCal. If someone can help broker a group buy with them, count me in!

I'm willing to go back out there and ask. It's clear across town for me so I'm not sure when I could get back there. Maybe early next week?

He was a talkative guy and told me about life at Pelican Parts. I know he would at least listen. If I can get an actual number of crests wanted by everybody, then I'll certainly try to get out there and approach him.

p.s. I just called him now since he'd remember me from this afternoon. He said he could do 20% off on 5; 30% off on 10. They were closing up (6 pm here) and he didn't give me any precise figures, but that should be off the $124.00 single pricing.
