Just bought an 06 Mercedes E350 for a DD and want to order a couple of things. Is there a good place to order factory stuff like we do for our Pcars from Sunset in Oregon or Suncoast in FL? Thanks! R.

Depends on what you need. If it has to be factory OEM, I barely like Caliber Motors Anaheim. They recently ripped me off with a $20 cross-town shipping charge for two oil filter elements (a few ounces). I do have a wholesale parts account there, like Sunset.
These guys used to be Hammersley Motors and they use to do good deals as "forum discounts." Worth a call. Let us know what you find out:

For OES (different packaging than factory parts, see "Sunset vs. Pelican" discussion) many forum guys like autohausaz. I'll also add germanautoparts.com to that list. One of the owner/managers, Mark is a 993 man as well. Both of these places have limited Porsche parts as well, so you might be able to combine some of your needs.

autohausAZ.com
Got a bunch of stuff for my wifes R129 SL500. GReat prices and they go to Bosch and other suppliers where they can so that they keep the prices low on that kind of stuff.

For wearable type items, even a few OEM type parts, like new headlight lens, I've had great luck with autohousAZ for my 993, but one of the items I need for the E350 is a new key remote so I'm guessing this will be a dealer only item, hence the reason I'm looking for a dealer that will offer an on-line discount like Sunset does.
Just tried Roanoak MB but parts was closed.

From what I've read, dealers are now requiring you to come in person to get a key. Before you could of done it over the phone or have them deliver it...
Let me know if you find a replacement online...

Caliber helped me out with a new smart key recently. It was cheaper than going to the local dealer to have a key ordered.
Fortunately, I did not have to send proof of ownership and all that to Caliber since I had ordered parts there before...
Total for the key was 161 and change including shipping.

Also www.mileoneparts.com allows you to look up parts by model.
They're related to the Tischer group of dealers. I've purchased from GetBMWParts.com (Tischer) and they're the BMW equivalent of Sunset (not quite as inexpensive though). They also have GetPorscheParts.com.

Funny, my '97 M3 has passenger front door issues, sometimes it opens, sometimes not. My local stealer (only one in about 100 miles) marks their parts UP anyware from 25% to well over 200% (.25 cent crush washer was $3.00!).

The key comes preprogrammed. All you have to do is take it out of the package and put it on your key ring.
Insert it into the ignition and it should fire right up, no need to go to the dealer.
