Default CDR-220 vs CR-220 vs the amp

Im looking to replace a broken CR-210 and would just as soon upgrade a bit but stay stock

1) is the only difference between the 'CDR' and the 'CR' a CD vs a tape?
2) will either of these work with my OE CD changer?
3) are they plug and play with the Hi-Fi option with the amp?

I dont really care about the in dash CD player I just want the AUX ipod connections so Im thinking I can just get the CR-220

I think that the iPod plugs in same place as the CD changer, so (I beleive) it is one or the other.

Also, prices on the CDR 220 vary. You can get a "new" remanufactured one from Becker for $300 and a good used one just sold for $150 on eBay. I got a remanufactured one from a dealer for $200 off eBay.

For an iPod connection you have to have a CDR-220 (CD) or a CR-220 (cassette). CR-220's sell much cheaper on Ebay because most people may occasional what to play a CD. You lose your CD changer connection. What year is your car? 95's take a new harness you can purchase from Becker. 96' and up are plug and play.

The guy I talked to at Becker on Wednesday denied they had a harness that went from the CR-1 plug to CDR 220 plug, just the CDR 220 plug with attached wires to splice into the CR-1 wiring. I'm happy if he's wrong. Do you have a contact? Thanks.

Sorry if I confused you. The Becker gentleman is correct and that is harness I'm referring to. You would have to splice the new harness.

Thanks and no problemo. I just would have paid a few bucks more for a plug-n-play....
