I think these guys, along with Victory and Holt, are in denial of the current used Porsche market. Are people actually buying cars from these dealers at or near their asking prices??

I kinda lost focus in trying to keep all that inventory straight.
"Good news", how? Because they're sitting on a bunch of inventory that, to my casual glances, has not turned much at all?

Maybe I'm in the same kind of "denial" but I still believe that the market for well-maintained, limited production cars like the 993 is not "soft". Sure, there will be folks who, for various reasons, may have to sell their cars and, in doing so, take a "bath" but I think they are in the minority. Those who owe more on their cars than they're worth are "upside down" like some in the housing market. That's not a pleasant situation and certainly has some effect on the market when they have to sell. Nevertheless, there are still folks out there with money waiting for the right car to come on the market.

Remember, this crash happened during the winter and that is always a crappy time to sell a sports car. The true test of the market happens in the next couple of months. You will either see people paying those prices, or the prices being reduced in order to get them sold. Stay tuned.

With many people looking at buying a used car (due to the economy), a good quality 993 is a bargain compared to a $100,000 997, plus it looks better and will hold its value better.

At least a couple of the wide bodies have been there since Oct. when I was still looking. They haven't reduced the asking price, but there was some significant negotiation room back then, so probably even more wiggle room now.

You are all dreaming. There are many brand new 997s are available for $75000 with less than 50 miles. Truspeed is putting out a feel good advertisement! 2008 and 2009 models are available for $10K to$18K off list with basically no miles in the NY/NJ/PA area. These are not classic 911s but they are new and superior in performance!
