Joy - The feeling you get when you receive a package from Germany that contains your new Becker Grand Prix to replace the aftermarket Alpine (which is going in the Jeep).
Anger - That feeling you get when you want to strangle someone for being an oxygen thief (see photos two & three for reference).
I guess this means I have two options. I can either source the part of the wiring that is missing and do some surgery or I can pick up where Tommy Teenager from Circuit City left off and re-wire with a new amp.
I think the PO has to bear partial blame for not being more vigilant when seeking a stereo installer...
Not sure I agree with that. I know too many people that aren't savvy enough to even think about that kind of stuff. As long as it works and looks good they are happy, originality isn't something high on the priority list. I'd say that I'm more to blame than the PO since I didn't catch it. Now I know that if I buy another one of these cars, and it has an aftermarket stereo, I need to look for butchered wiring.
Looks like this is a better fit (for me) than the Traffic Pro I have. I don't need Nav (can get it with the iPhone) but like an elegant iPod/BT integration. The Dice unit will work with a TP but having it built into the Grand Prix is better.
Wow! I really like the Grand Prix! Any issues with using that unit in our cars? Cost?
Should be fairly straightforward from what I've read here. Might have to change a couple of the pins for the wiring. I'm about to find out.
Check out Kolumbus24.com for prices & availability. They were the only ones I found that would ship to the US. The were very responsive to e-mails as well.
