Bruce and Chuck, on an OBD1 car the exhausts merge at the head of the cat converter and then split up again. Keep in mind there's only one O2 sensor.

Look, I still agree it's a bad idea because that's got to create all kinds of bad exhaust reversion - just splitting hairs because, um, I have nothing better to do....
