Thanks for your insight. The GLK 350 is the perfect sized vehicle for the wife and I- and a great compliment to the 993 C4. I love my FJ but miss the comfort of the Range Rover. Hopefully the GLK will be a suitable blend of the two (reliability, power and comfort, along with winter capability). I priced one and it came out at $44k- not bad, IMHO. Sure, I could buy used and get more, but there is something about a new vehicle with a warranty that can't be beat.

Paul, I think you'll be very happy with it, and perhaps MB will take some of the advice I gave to them to make it even better.
