"Super Speeder" Bill In Georgia
H-m-m-m-m-m...
The Georgia House passed the so-called super-speeder bill this week. If you’re caught driving more than 85 mph on four lane roads and interstates or faster than 75 mph on two-lane roads you’ll face an extra $200 dollar fine and extra points on your license. This measure passed the House 113-53 and will now head to the Senate for a final vote before possibly heading to the Governor’s desk. Supporters say the bill could raise as much as $30 million a year which would go to a cash-starved trauma care network in Georgia. This is not the first year supporters have tried to pass this bill. Opponents call this just a new tax.

20 over here in Arizona, can get you a felony driving violation.
It is entirely up to the arresting officer. He can cuff you, tow your car, haul your *** in and make you post a bond if he is in such a mood. I'd gladly pay the extra cash if it saves a trip to jail.
My only brush with the law at over 100mph was in my M5 on a empty (except for the ambushing cop) on I40 at 10pm.
The stopping officer after runnning me and the car through the system found no tickets or warrants decided that since I was not endangering anyone else that he wrote me a warning for 84 in a 75.
I've cooled my heels a little since then.

The extra points are the issue for me. As long as they dont haul my ars to jail, I dont give a rip about an extra $200.
The insurance hike will hurt in the long haul much more!

Now we have to contend with portable photo units, instant on radar and many DPS patrolling that road.
I now have to head northeast out of Flagstaff and drive on the reservation roads.

Soon to be 9.25% (or more, if your locality has even higher sales tax) here in CA! And the license fee will undoubtedly go higher than the .66 to 1.15% they just pushed through the budget.

Hmm, extra $200 not too bad. How many points I wonder?
They were trying for an 85 auto felony at one point I believe.
I had a 79 in a 45. Oops, cost $105 and 4 points.

Follow the money...
Hey, what about "Super Stupid Driver", or something like that that is actually a danger?!? I've been almost hit by people going very slow on city streets, parking lots, etc. Has nothing to do with speed.

I would be ok with the extra $200 as a "voluntary tax". But the points ....
Insurance companies love it.
