I'm using MY02s 18x10 et65 in the rear. My car's not here so I can't give you fender height...Rubbing is all gone now with the 275/35s instead of the 285/30s...I know tire "feel" is subjective. But I'm really liking these tires...

That's interesting, I've been investigating 285 on the ET65 10 and also some wider wheels too.

I agree that on my car I don't think the 285/30 will clear on 10ET65, 265/35 barely do even w/ rolled lips(which could be rolled a bit further). But I know that some guys do use the 285/30 on 10ET65 at pretty low ride heights sucessfully. I wonder what they aren't telling us.

Thanks for the feedback!

For the Dunlops for some reason they have stopped publishing that info but almost as good is the section width
a Dunlop Star Spec 265/35x18 weighs 28#, wants a 9-10.5" wheel, when mounted on a 9.5" wheel section width is 10.7" when mounted on a 10" wheel it will be ~10.9", tread width of course stays the same for either wheel. Dunlops do tend to have a squarer shoulder than some other brands.
I was meaning specifically the Dunlops, I need to measure mine I have 265's mounted on 18"x10".

The Dunlops are definatly very square in profile creating the potential of a rubbing issue.

Getting these tires installed once I get my rear rim straightened.

225/40R18 and 265/35R18 on 8" and 10" wide turbo twists.

I went with the 275/35r18 on the rear 10" rim. Fills out the wheel well really nice...

we just put the star spec on our race car and we are very happy! Sticky, good feedback and solid "planted" feel.

Yes, I ran them on my Evo X and loved them. They have a nice progressive grip to them and fight heat for a street tire admirably well.

I wish I had gone with the 275 rear to get the side wall a little more upright.
with the 265 its rounded inward just abit.

Considering the Dunlop's.
Are they worth the extra $268 (set of 4) over the Sumi HTZ III's for street use ?
Maybe someone can weigh in that has experiance w/both....

Do they come in 235-40-18 & 295-30-18?

One of my friends has them on (real) 964 cup car & historic 914/6 race car. He loves them.

Dunlop or tire Rack website has full list of sizes. I got mine at tirerack.

Ive seen several 944s at auto-X running these.

Bummer, they have 235-40-18.
But 275 is the widest width in 18 inches-no good.

Gues I'll go with Toyo RA-1'S

I've got 235's on the front and 275's on the rear with my 18"s, and I am very happy with them. I autocross as well, and I am very happy with their handling characteristics and durability.

IMO, they've unseated the mighty PS2 as the best tire in their class.

I like my * specs a lot and they are great tire but in a different category than PS2, it would be great to have some #s for cross cat comparisons

* Specs are in the extreme performance cat along w/ BS RE11, Advan AD08

here

Extreme Perf tires

the Max performance tires
