Sqeualing brakes after fix and no search
'97 C2 white. Tried the search function but it sends a bunch of crap back...
Just had my front brakes and rotors changed at a shop. She came back screaming like an LA bus. I removed the stupid spider cup things and bled all four corners but the front brakes are even worse now. (actually removed the driver side wheel and out fell the two screws that hold the rotor on - nice job brake guy). Is there another method to quite these things down? I've tried reseating the pads (stopping really hard) but to no avail. Thanks for the info.

Do you know what kind of pads they used? I have never had good luck with anything except the OEM textars... Also need to use new spiders (reusing the old ones is useless).. With these two things I have been 100% sucessful with quiet brakes, any deviation has invariably lead to squeal... One other thing you can try is to chamfer (bevel) the leading edge of the pad with a file....

I did a full Porsche OEM (Sunset sourced) pads, spiders, rotors change and no squealing. Didn't use any of that no-Squeal stuff. Any time I have a hint of sqeak, the "Italian" brake job (apologies to our Italian RL breathren....and my great grandparents...) (the 80/20 method mentioned above) seems to quickly cure it.

Thanks for all the replies. I will try the 80/20 method and post back. I am now a brake pro, having taken everything off and on so many times. Never gonna pay for that job again... I even did the slave cylinder bleed while I had her up- what a pain in the ***. Medieval really.

Do not waste your time with the 80/20 method. I've done it a couple of times with only short term results. Just burned some material off of my nice new discs.
Two weeks ago I put back on OEM textars with new spiders. Left the old discs on. Not a SINGLE SQUEAL since (and I drive about 80 miles a day).
