Default Insurance Question

I have a friend with a car that they plan to simply keep garaged and stored for a time (not driven on the road).

What insurance options do they have for keeping a car in storage. Obviously, a standard auto policy is overkill. All they need is to insure the car's value while stored.

Any recommendations?

In the Winter I usually go for a "Withdrawn from use" Still covers you against theft, fire etc.. Basically anything not driving related.

Don't forget that it CAN be stolen and wreaked. Just don't go too cheap.

Keep the comprehensive coverage - It should provide all the protection a nondriven cars requires and it's cheap. Homeowners coverage may also provide coverage for some losses as well.

agree with Uncle Buck...keep the comprehensive for anything that can happen while in storage then swtich the coverage when it's time to drive/
