Default How hard is a widebody conversion on a narrow 993?

Just woundering how hard it really is to do a widebody conversion on a narrow body 993?
Can a experianced body man do the job?
Do the side skirts from a wide body fit a narrow body because they look like they mold into the rear quarter panel. am I right?
Here is a picture for for example of what I mean, I hope "allill" doesent mind.

I’m no expert, so maybe one of them can lend more detail. but here is what I know..

1) The little lip on the back of the front fenders (where it meets the rocker) is different, so you would need new front quarter panels.
2) Obviously the rear quarters are different, these are part of the core chassis though, so you would have to cut and weld these on.
3) All of the fender bracketry is different underneath
4) Rear bumper is different
5) Rockers
6) (almost forgot) the front bumper is also different
7) Wheels / Tires
8) Exhaust tips
9) If im not mistaken the rear deck grill is different as well

So to do a "factory" job, it is allot of parts and allot of work. Probably cheaper to just buy a C2s to start. But most of that is details, there are several places where you can scrimp and cut substantial cost (although it would ruin resale value).

edit: But most of that is just details, You could probably scrimp and just replace the rear quaters and rockers (although it would ruin resale value).

Just my 2 cents (maybe less)

Gert at Carnewal sells a kit to do the conversion. It has been done before.

www.carnewal.com

The rear fenders need replacing. The fronts do not. The rocker panels would also get replaced.

A lot easier if you sell your narrow body car and buy an S wide body car.

I was woundering if it is possible to do if you have a widebody parts car but if the rockers need replacing thats too much work. Im just gonna keep it the way it is.

Again.. no expert here... but

The rockers are just bolt on... that is the easiest part of the whole deal...

My bad. I assumed that the front fenders were the same since you can bolt on the turbo bumper without moding the fenders.
