My 1995 993 coupe has the factory cellphone (AKA Bat Phone) option. I bought a factory Porsche crest to mount on the speaker grille and I plan to install (2) VDO 2 1/16" diameter gauges stacked in the opening where the phone and cradle were located. I"ll have an upholstery shop make a leather panel to cover the odd-shaped phone opening with two holes for the gauges. There's enough depth to accomodate the gauges and the opening is sufficiently wide and long.

So which gauges to install? My car has the on-board computer so I have outside temperature display already. I'm thinking voltmeter and cylinder head temperature gauges. Cylinder head temperature will be a pain to wire and requires a 12mm spark plug sensor, but seems a good gauge for a 911.

Any other thoughts on gauges?

Those would be my choices as well. I might also like a wideband AFR gauge. More useful on turbos but I have gotten used to looking at one.
