Can you guys show some compassion for us northern folk? Keep your 12 car private DEs private for goodness sake! Just kidding. These pics are great to look at. All I hear is this Dave guy can drive, but he won't share any track video with me. I think he is worried I'm going to learn his secrets. Anyone with track video, please share. I am going crazy waiting for the season to begin.
That's what I'm talking about! Thanks for sharing. I was getting a little anxious in the beginning of video watching that R8 fading away in the straights, but you turned it around at the end. Nice driving. That pass wasn't really late; was it?
One of the requirements for the pass is to get back in "line" before the braking zone...I was well into the braking zone when the pass was completed (and he certainly wasnt helping by not lifting), so they saw me take T-1 "off line" which I dont mind doing - but they did. No big deal.
I dont think I could be happier Al....it handles beautifully and is WAY quicker...although my ears are hatin' it by the end of the weekend. If you watch the vids closely, you'll notice a slight lift just after the Start Finish line where the dB meter is positioned on drivers side. The car puts out 113db at a 103 limit track...
Rob's car is Killer. And thanks for the compliments. But you deserve as much accolades as me. The guy driving the R8 is a Speed World Challenge Driver. Rob got around him late pass or not.
BTW Al. I'm doing another 3 Day DE next weekend. This is my 5th this year. Gotta Love the South
I will get some video next weekend @ RA
Couple of pics of Rob's BEAST (my favorite is the cockpit)
Luckily this was my E30 (the silver 1990 BMW 325i), so new rotors, pads, and rebuilt calipers were fairly inexpensive. Still, it's a little worrisome since the brake pads were a new set of Hawk HT-10s, so using them up like this shouldn't have occured. Nonetheless, when the piston started to come out of the caliper, brake fluid began to leak, which is what caught fire. The other side only looked sligtly better. I sure hope I fair better at Road Atlanta next weekend. At least at RA there are straight sections long enough to let the brakes cool a bit.
Do you have some lap times? I am curious about the Lotuses (Loti???). I bet the Exige had the fastest lap times.
Truely giant killers these little things
The Lotus (Loti ) would be unstoppable at that track I think and in fact I was going to Drive the one w/ the Purple wheels but he ended up having a brake issue?
That day Me and the Eric (Black GT3) turned the fastest times. 105.00 That said, I bet the Lotus could turn close to a 1:00 in the right hands.

I'm not sure if Shaun (or anyone else) recorded lap times for the Lotuseseses, but from my casual observation they weren't running anywhere near as fast as the faster Porsche guys. I don't mean any disrespect to the Lotus guys, but I don't think they had the track experience some of the other folks had (which is the whole point of being there, after all). One Lotus was running similar times to my E30, which would best be described as "lesuirely".
