I must say that the lack of sales taxes has been a real boon to Oregon businesses,......

Any talk of such a thing results in political suicide as I've witnessed such things for 45+ years.

Oregon has very high income and property taxes to bridge the gap but with the state's almost 9% unemployment, politicians are getting nervous.
