Hey, Matt,

The Jethot coating keeps the corrosion at bay. There's no performance benefit that I know of. My 'cups are first gens that I got from Bill Walczak many years ago. They were a bit rusty, so I polished them up and made them shine like mirrors. However, the polishing only lasted six months or so under heavy track conditions. Maybe Fabspeed improved the finish in the latest 'cups, but, if they did not, it might be a good idea to have your exhaust coated if they start looking grotty.

Mark,

Do you have a picture of them coated?

Sorry, no. Just imagine what somewhat shiny aluminum looks like and you'll have an idea. Or maybe the backside of aluminum foil.

Thanks Mark. Much appreciated.

I am definitely going with Supercups, but have so far been unlucky scoring a used set in good condition with turndowns.

Was shocked at Tremblant last year to hear the difference w/ and without turndowns. Very useful at tracks with strict sound regs.

Best,

Matt

Not really, maybe to do a little shakedown on the beltway then back in the garage. My car mostly sees the inside of the garage and the track.

I'm going to send them off for a coating and I'll snap pictures when I get them back for you guys. Thanks for the info Mark!
