I've got a CEL and misplaced my scanner. Need to read the code and clear the light. I'm in North Tustin and can drive to you... drop me a PM if you can help.

Much thanks!

Hey Clive...

Your PST-2 worked great (and it wasn't an SAI issue... woohoo!!). Thanks for letting Chris borrow it.

BTW, Chris and Robin were awesome. My biggest lesson of the day? Don't buy a Ferrari

Porsche fault code 95... has to do with the carbon canister fuel venting system. Adrain Streather's book has a brief description of how the system works but I'm not certain where to start... I may start with a new gas cap and go from there. Code has been cleared and CEL is off.

Anyone else have experience with this code?

Often times the vent valve gets dessicant stuck in it from an old charcoal canister and keeps it open...and over time can unlodge itself.

If gas cap doesn't fix it...and I don't think it will to be honest, next would be canister, then vent valve itself...

Another thought occurred to me on this one...

Sometimes spiders will make a nest in some of the fuel filler vent hoses, not sure if a 993 has those but that can also cause evap related codes. I see these frequently on modern vehicles....although much more complex with the vent filler bypasses, etc. Another thing to keep in mind...

If you need help feel free to ask...

Hey- I love the Lincoln quote in your sig so much I actually used it for a while myself in my Yahoo mail sig (random!). That is, until I became a City Commissioner and realized it might not go over very well with my friends on City Council and staff...d'oh!
