Mine's in need of that repair too...the pillar is starting to crack

Here are some progress pictures of my door strap repair. The shop decided to cut an access hole in the pillar. You can see that the strap is welded on the inside of the pillar on both sides. Not only was the weld broken but the metal on the back side of the pillar was ripped. The body shop is repairing the broken welds. Putting a block of metal into the access hole that will set up next to the door strap and welding a plate on the back of the pillar that will add strength to the thin metal. None of this work will be visible when complete.

I'll do a final post when all the work is complete.
